This Way Out

This Way Out brims with bone-dry comedy that’ll have you rollicking in your seat and gasping for breath between fits of laughter. An absolute gas for every minute of its running time, This Way Out ought to make writer/director Staten Cousins-Roe a name to look out for.  - Matt Oakes, silverscreenriot.com

***** Much like the manager of a boutique Euthanasia Clinic is attempting to achieve in order to save her business from death by bureaucracy, this film ticks all the boxes - Josh Allen, oneandother.com

Knocker

Staten's short black comedy play Knocker was recently performed at the National Theatre, Lyttelton stage, as part of Moving Stories a charity performance in aid of the United Nations Refugee Agency. The event brought together new theatre pieces and songs from acclaimed playwrights including Richard Bean (One Man Two Guvnors), David Edgar and Stephanie Dale, and stars including Juliet Stevenson, Rufus Hound, David Morrissey and Ray Fearon. Andy Nyman (Hangmen) and Adjoa Andoh (Broadchurch, Les Liaisons Dangereuses) performed Knocker, with Robert Hastie (Splendour, Henry V) directing Staten's play about beef sandwiches, abattoirs, overweight police-marksmen and an escaped cow called Cinci Freedom, who could be our only hope.
